Jade Fortune and longevity pattern screen, clear, 17.5cm high, 13.4cm wide and 1.5cm thick
The color of the inserted screen emerald is bright and blue, with uniform color and white crystal inside. It is rectangular and flaky. One side is carved with rocks, clouds, waterfalls, running water and pine trees. The three old longevity stars each hold ganoderma lucidum, Ruyi and peach fruit in their hands, making a walking gesture of greeting each other, implying “happiness, wealth and longevity”. The other side is carved and filled with the words of “three stars praise of the imperial system, wealth and longevity” in regular script
The insets are important palace furnishings in the Qing Dynasty, and are often displayed on several cases. The jade screens in the Qing Dynasty are various, including white jade, sapphire, jasper and emerald, square, round and shaped with stone, and generally equipped with red sandalwood frames and wooden seats
