This picture was painted by Wang Duo at the age of 60, imitating Dong Yuan. The picture is divided into upper and lower sections. The upper section is covered by mountains, with streams and waterfalls between the mountains, and the lower section is covered by giant trees, with a cloud gap between the mountains and giant trees. Wang Duo painted with cursive strokes, which were fast and did not seek shape resemblance, supplemented by light ink halo, and used more ink dots between mountains and rocks and Pituo, which were mixed with the outline and texturing of cursive lines
The title of this picture is: “Shunzhi Xinmao was written in Pingshui Office after the Dragon Boat Festival. Wang Duo learned from Dong Yuan’s freehand brushwork.” Shunzhi Xinmao was the eighth year of Shunzhi (1651)
