This couplet is a longmen style couplet, written in the “Spring King’s First Month of Jiaqing Reform”, and at the end of the year, it is read in the “Book of Tieyanshan House”. In the first year of Jiaqing (1796), Deng Shiru was 54 years old. In the lower right of the second couplet, there is a section of Qing Kang Youwei’s postscript. No identification mark. Kang Youwei said in the postscript: “The seal script of the Man of the White Mountains has been divided into three parts and consolidated into a complete collection in modern times, that is, the regular script is also original and innovative from the north and south steles, with the pen force like cast iron, and the painting method is particularly thick.” The calligraphy of this couplet is ancient Mao Chenxiong, with the body and the official script, which is similar to the Wei steles, and remains of official script, which is called official script. The strokes are thick, and the style is ancient and simple, reflecting the profound foundation of stele science.
