Huang Yi realized that “the stone tablet of Yang Taiwei is no longer available, and the rest of it is in the form of a Song pad.” According to the Chronicle of Weng Fanggang, in the forty-second year of Qianlong’s reign in the Qing Dynasty (1777), Weng Fanggang wrote the poem “The stone tablet of Yang Taiwei in the Han Dynasty is in the form of Huang Xiaosong” for Huang Yi’s Song pad, which infers that the time when Huang Yi wrote this work should be around 1777, when Huang Yi was about 34 years old.
