This picture shows the Jin calligrapher Wang Xizhi and the boy watching the goose on the bridge. The allusion of Xizhi’s love for geese comes from “The Book of Jin · The Biography of Wang Xizhi”, which records the story that Wang Xizhi once wrote the “Tao Te Ching” for the Taoist priest in exchange for a flock of geese
Ren Bonian has created a number of “The Painting of Xizhi Love Goose”, which shows the harmony and friendship between humans and birds. This is one of the representative works.
