The Thangka of the Venerable Pendulla Raphael, 18th century, Beijing, with cloth color, 143 cm high, 89 cm wide, 82 cm vertical and 56 cm horizontal
The Reverend Bin Du Lobala was born in the home of the national teacher of the ancient Indian king Shacheng. Later, Shakyamuni Buddha shaved himself into a monk and won the title of Arhat. Sakyamuni Buddha called him “the roaring lion”, which means the most powerful and pretentious among his disciples
In the picture, the Venerable sat with his hands folded, his left hand holding a bowl, his right hand holding a pen and flipping over the scriptures on the stone table. The incense burner smoke curled around the book, and the left waiter stood with a feather fan. The upper left and right sides are the Dragon Tree Master and Holy Heaven. The lower part is a glass jar on the shoulder of the two yakasha. In the jar, there are offerings for the lotus worshippers. In front of the seat, there are offerings of scriptures, incense burners, pipa, and grosvenor fruit held by the lotus
There is a white silk label on the back of the portrait, which is inscribed in four characters of Han, Manchu, Mongolian and Tibetan on the ink, in which the Chinese text is: “On April 25, the emperor ordered the painting of the Buddha Lama in the central main hall to worship the benefit portrait of Bintulabara, the worshiper… left sixth”. Yellow bar: “Left six”. This Thangka was painted by the Buddhist Lama in the Central Hall
