[Moon white large lotus brocade]
Moon white large lotus brocade, woven by Jiangning in the early Qing Dynasty, is 747cm long and 79cm wide. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The fabric consists of two sets of warp and two sets of weft. The two groups of warp yarns are moon-white, the ratio of ground warp to grain warp is 1:1, the ground warp is twisted to Z, and the twist is medium; The warp twist direction is Z, and the twist is weak. The weft uses the moon white weft as the ground weft, and the sheet gold weft as the grain weft. The ratio of the ground weft to the grain weft is 1:1, without twist. The ground weave is composed of moon white warp and weft threads interwoven into five two-fly warp satin patterns, and the grain weave is composed of sheet gold and moon white warp threads interwoven into a 4:1 left weft twill pattern
The pattern of the fabric is large, fat and bright, with the characteristics of the Western Regions, and the large pieces of gold show the flowers, which are dazzling. Because there are rolled vines around the flower head, the whole picture is not stiff. There are three pieces of open width, which are composed of two groups of lotuses that rotate symmetrically in the meridian direction and form a pattern cycle, with the flower cycle of 25.5 × 53 cm. The color match of light gold and moon white is gorgeous and elegant. This kind of brocade technology with gold thread as the main performance originated from the “Nashishi” in the Yuan Dynasty
This gold satin was woven by Jiangning Weaving Bureau in the early Qing Dynasty.
