Stone Seal White Shoushan Stone, rectangular, boy Mu Niu Button, side style. In seal and white characters, read the seven words from the top right, “white hair bends to shame”. The printing surface has a negative line sidebar. On the side, the engraved official script “The fifth day of October 20, the fourth year of the apocalypse. Hongdu.”
This printed text is from the poem “Jiannan Poetry Manuscript, Volume 9, Out of the West Gate Couplet” by Lu You of the Song Dynasty. This seal is slightly less nimble than Wang Hong’s early seal cutting, and shows people by regulating the style. The strokes of the characters are hard folded, with a slightly chiseled meaning. The overall layout is uniform, and the printing is symmetrical, dense but not complicated
