Colored Double Dragons Playing with Beads, Ming Wanli, height 4.6 cm, caliber 28.7 cm. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The plate is open and shallow, short and round. The whole body is painted with four layers of red, yellow and green paint from the bottom to the top, and all kinds of decorative patterns are carved in layers. The center of the plate is decorated with red lacquer checkered flower brocade patterns, embossed with red and green double dragons playing pearl patterns, and decorated with sea water river cliffs and broken flowers in the space. The inner wall of the panel is made of diamond-shaped open light, and the inside is carved with yellow and green paint on the brocade ground, and carved with pine, bamboo and plum “three friends of the year”. Between the open light, the yellow paint checkered flower brocade ground is carved with broken branches and peony patterns. The outer wall is decorated with red lacquer carvings and flowers. The inside of the foot is painted with black paint, and the regular script of the “Ming Dynasty Wanli Renchen Year System” carved horizontally on the top is still vaguely visible although it is painted
