The inside and outside are covered with melon skin green glaze, and the underglaze is decorated with dark lines. Two flying phoenixes are drawn on the neck and abdomen respectively, with a cloud pattern between them, a deformed lotus petal pattern on the lower part of the abdomen, and a rolled grass pattern on the outside of the foot wall. Apply white glaze inside the circle foot. The outsole is printed with blue and white regular script “made in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty” in double lines and six characters, and the outer blue and white double circles
The melon skin green glaze was created and fired in the early Ming Dynasty. It is a kind of glassy low temperature copper green glaze. Because the glaze color is similar to the color of watermelon skin, it is commonly known as “melon skin green”. At the time of Jiajing, the melon skin green glazed ware fired by Jingdezhen official kiln was the most famous. The shape of the ware was mainly small round ware such as bowls and plates, while the large pieces such as statues and pots were relatively rare.
