Red Pine Bamboo Plum and Crane Pattern Disk, Ming Jiajing, this is a complete set of three disks, decreasing in size, height 2.2 cm, 2.2 cm, 1.6 cm, caliber 26.2 cm, 20.2 cm, 17.3 cm
The disc is round, diffuse and shallow, with vortex edge. Carved three kinds of brocade patterns of sky, water and ground in the center of the plate, and pressed with pine, bamboo, plum and crane patterns. The middle of the smallest plate foot is engraved with the inscription “made in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, three layers”, and the middle of the medium plate foot is engraved with the inscription “made in Jiajing of the Ming Dynasty, two layers”. The inscription of the Emperor Hongli in the fifty-fifth year of Qianlong (1790) is engraved around the two plates:

The decorative pattern on the outer wall of the plate is the same as that on the inside. The paint layer is thin and the decorative pattern is flat. It is a typical artifact of the Jiajing period. But the largest plate primer is as bright as new. It is carved with a knife and filled with gold “made in Qianlong” regular script, which is obviously post-engraved. There is a yellow paper sticker next to the model, and the ink book “On the third day of November of the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong’s reign, the antique house received a red carved lacquer disc for viewing, and the lack of lacquer wax was repaired.” It can be seen that the model year of Qianlong on this disc was carved after the instrument was presented to the antique house in the winter of the fifty-fourth year of Qianlong’s reign, and then repaired and painted. According to the Hongli inscription, this set of dishes should be the offerings on the Taoist altar in the Ming Dynasty.
