[plain tricolor lotus rectangular narcissus basin]

plain tricolor lotus rectangular narcissus basin, Ming Zhengde, height 7.2 cm, caliber 23.8 cm × 15.2 cm, foot diameter 23.1 cm × 14.2 cm
The basin is rectangular, with four sides slightly inclined, and six feet underneath. The inside and outside of the basin are painted with white glaze. The outer wall is decorated with three colors, with yellow, green and purple colors, and the abdomen is painted with green flowers and grass patterns in purple. There are four characters of “Zhengde Year System” in the blue and white regular script at the lower edge of the mouth, and the blue and white columns at the outer side. The blue and white patterns under the purple glaze are blue-black
Although the plain tricolor has taken shape since Chenghua in the Ming Dynasty, it won’t enjoy a high reputation until Zhengde. This device is unique in shape, simple and vivid in composition, fresh and bright in color, and harmonious in color matching, giving people an aesthetic feeling of simplicity and elegance
Since the Zhengde Dynasty in the Ming Dynasty, the quality of porcelain has shown a downward trend. The carving type has more and more sets, and the joint marks are increasingly obvious. The bottom of the large ware is far less delicate and smooth than that of Yongle, Xuande and Chenghua. However, as for Zhengde Susancai, it has achieved remarkable achievements and become a famous and precious variety for a time.
