Wash the whole body in the form of ten sunflowers, open, shallow, with nearly straight abdominal wall and flat bottom. The whole body is painted with bright red glaze, with uniform and bright color. The border of the mouth and the rib of the petals on the abdominal wall reveal the pure white color of the embryo, which is reflected with the red glaze of the body. White glaze is applied at the bottom
Pure red glazed porcelain was founded in the late Yuan Dynasty and fully matured in the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. Xuande Red Glaze is as famous as Yongle Red Glaze. The glaze layer is plump and bright red. The glaze surface has many orange peel patterns, and the mouth edge has a neat “rush edge”, which is clearly red and white. The most common utensils are bowls, plates and washing. After Xuande, the red glaze tended to decline. Although there were still a few productions in the past dynasties, the successful ones were rare. Judging by its shape and characteristics of red glaze, this wash should be a rare treasure of Xuande red glaze.
