Bronze Gilded Buddha Sitting, Ming Xuande, 28.5 cm high, 19.5 cm wide and 14.2 cm thick
The sitting statue of Buddha Ahu has a hair knot in a bun. The top of the bun is decorated with jewels, a five-leaf treasure crown, and a big ear bell. Its unique shape of the treasure crown Buddha is very different from that of the common Bodhisattva. Dressed in a topless cassock, the cassock edge is embossed with lotus lace with tangled branches, and the field is divided by a bead line. Each grid is carved with lotus flowers. The cassock style of Yongxuan Buddha’s costume is usually plain, with natural undulating folds. The exquisite and gorgeous carving of this cassock is a special case in Yongxuan Buddha’s statue. The left hand has a Zen meditation seal, and the center of the abdomen cassock is embossed with a diamond pestle, which seems to be held in the palm of the palm from a distance. It has a unique ingenuity. The right hand knot touches the ground and sits on its feet. The front of the seat is engraved with the inscription “The Great Ming Dynasty proclaimed the year of virtue”.
