Bronze gilded statue of Buddha’s mother, built in Yongle of the Ming Dynasty, is 19 cm high
The Buddha mother wears a treasure crown on her head, has eight arms on three sides, and holds the Buddha, cross pestle, bow and arrow, rope, and vase in her hands. She sits with a cross, and two streamers extend from under her legs to the front of the seat. The bottom plate is carved with yin and yang patterns, and the outside is a pestle-like object. It is decorated with continuous bead patterns, and the surface is silvery, which are typical features of “Yongle” and “Xuande” bronze statues
During the Yongle and Xuande periods of the Ming Dynasty, a certain number of Buddha statues were cast for political needs to be awarded to eminent monks and political dignitaries in Tibet. This kind of Buddha has a square and round face, symmetrical facial features, slender eyebrows and eyes, quiet and soft, slightly smiling, gorgeous and exquisite clothing, and is the best of the palace statues in the early Ming Dynasty
