Stripping red cloud dragon pattern rectangular box, Ming Yongle, 13 cm high, 40.5 cm long and 13 cm wide. The old collection of the Qing Palace
The box cover is of the top type, with a straight wall body. The box is painted with yellow paint on the ground, and the cover and wall are carved with vermilion dragon and pearl pattern, with clouds. The dragon pattern has a thin neck and thick body, a long beak rising, and the hair of the dragon floats between the two horns, deliberately imitating the characteristics of the dragon pattern of the Yuan Dynasty. The primer of the box is ochre, with fine broken grain of cattle hair, which is a typical feature of Yongle lacquerware in the Ming Dynasty, and has a legacy of the Song and Yuan Dynasties. The box is painted black and filled with red sandalwood drawers. The “Da Ming Xuan De Nian” pattern engraved vertically on the left edge of the outsole is covered by the faint visible “Da Ming Yongle Nian” pattern
