This cup is carved according to the natural shape of the material. The table depicts the story of Su Shi’s night tour in Chibi in the Song Dynasty by means of line relief. At the edge of the mouth, there are 6 characters of “The Picture of East Slope Traveling in Red Cliff” and “Xihuangzi”, which are known to be the works of Zhang Xihuang, a master sculptor of the Ming Dynasty
The wine bucket carving technique is skilled, and the characters and scenery carved are lifelike, which shows the skill of famous craftsman. Agaric is one of the rare wood species. The color of this cup is similar to the color of rhinoceros horn. If you don’t carefully inspect it, it will easily be mixed with rhinoceros cup.
