Lv Ji’s bamboo and bird picture axis

[Lv Ji Bamboo and Bird Painting Axis]

Bamboo and Bird Painting Axis, Ming Dynasty, Lv Ji painting, silk painting, color setting, 148.5 cm vertical and 467.7 cm horizontal
Payment signature: “Lv Ji”. Seal “Four Ming Lu Tingzhen”. There is a poem inscribed by Dongya at the top of the picture
This scene is simple, with a bamboo pole slanting from the bottom left and running diagonally through the picture. The main trunk is beautiful, the side branches are thin and strong, and the leaves are dense, which is the method of bamboo painting by scholars in the Song and Yuan dynasties. Two magpies are singing on the branches, which means good luck and peace. The composition of the work is clear, the style is beautiful, the small freehand brushwork is used, and the color is fresh and elegant, which is different from the rich and noble appearance of Lu Ji’s other works.
