This picture depicts four seasons of flowers in ink. Each paragraph has its own seven unique songs. On the painting, the painter fully exerted the expressive power of ink and wash, with wild strokes, dripping ink and varied strokes, splashing ink, scorching ink, broken ink and double hooks, and sketched the characteristics of various flowers with a few strokes, simple but quite elegant. From Xu Wei’s poems and inscriptions, we can see that this painting was painted by the author in his strong creative passion and with sound pen and ink. This picture can be called a masterpiece of Xu Wei’s ink freehand flowers.
