[Qiu Ying’s Jade Cave of Immortal Source Map Axis]
The Jade Cave of Immortal Source Map Axis, Ming Dynasty, Qiu Ying’s work, silk version, color setting, 169 cm vertically and 65.5 cm horizontally
In the picture, there are strange peaks and steep mountains, green pines and cypresses, Qionglou Water Pavilion, karst caves and streams, misty clouds and mists, and the hills and valleys are hidden or visible. In front of the cave with rippling streams, a hermit crossed his knees in front of the stream, stopped playing piano and sat quietly. The waiters were busy cooking tea, serving dishes and displaying antiques, which seemed like a fairyland on earth. This kind of seclusion theme works are very common, and Qiu Ying displays a bright mood and healthy interest in the beautiful and peaceful artistic conception, which is quite unique in similar works
The work has a broad view, a strict structure, a clear level, an orderly layout, a complex but not congested scenery, a small but fine portrayal of the characters, and a prominent position, reflecting the painter’s profound attainments in controlling complex scenes and arranging the order of the master and the subordinate. This picture uses big cyan to color, fine lines to outline the outline, thick and colorful lapis lazuli to render the mountains and rocks, and at the same time, it combines the fine texturing method to pursue the harmony of colors. It has changed on the basis of Zhao Boju, the master of the southern Song Dynasty cyan landscape in the patriarchal clan system, and represents the typical painting style of Qiu Ying’s cyan landscape
In the lower left of this figure, there is a signature of “Qiu Yingshi’s father”, with the seal of “Qiu Yingshi’s father”, and there are 14 seals such as “Bian Lingzhi’s identification”.
