This seal is the work of the Ming Dynasty to name the king seal of the Han Dynasty. The so-called “king of Taiyuan” in the seal was originally the king of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, named Liu Shen, the son of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty, Liu Heng. In March of the third year of Emperor Wen of the Han Dynasty (177 BC), a secretary asked the emperor to make the prince king of the princes, so all the princes were made king at that time. Among them, Liu Shen was appointed as the king of Taiyuan, and Liu Wu, another son of Liu Heng, was appointed as the king. Two years later, Liu Wu was transferred to the king of Huaiyang, and all the land was transferred to Liu Shen, the king of Taiyuan. Liu Shanli died in the 17th year of Emperor Wen’s reign (162 BC), and was given the posthumous title of King Xiao.
