[Blue jade evil button “Zhongshan king treasure” seal]
Blue jade evil button “Zhongshan king treasure” seal, Ming Dynasty, printed 1.4 × 1.4 cm, 1.5 cm high. The old collection of the Qing Palace
It is made of blue jade, which can ward off evil. The printed text is in seal script and white text. From the top right, read the four words “Zhongshan Wangbao”
This seal is the work of the Ming Dynasty to name the king seal of the Han Dynasty. The “King of Zhongshan” in the seal was originally the king of the Han Dynasty, named Liu Sheng. In the third year of Emperor Jingdi of the Han Dynasty (154 BC), Chao Cuo, the imperial historian, proposed to “cut off the vassal state”. Wang Bi of Wu, Wang Ang of Jiaoxi, King Wu of Chu, Zhao Wangsui, Wang Biguang of Jinan, Wang Xian of Xiechuan, and Wang Xiongqu of Jiaodong jointly launched a counterattack in the name of “Qing Junbian”. The Han court beheaded Chao Cuo in order to thank the seven countries, while the seven countries did not retreat. The Emperor Jingdi sent the first lieutenant Zhou Yafu and the first general Dou Ying to lead the troops to break through the seven countries. In June, the imperial edict established the prince Liu Duan as the king of Jiaoxi and Liu Sheng as the king of Zhongshan
In addition, there is a jade seal of “Zhongshan Wangbao”, similar to this one, with a slightly rectangular surface, which is also included in the imperial palace of the Qing Dynasty, and is also a work under the pretext of name.
