  • Image Number: K1A001606N000000000PAC
  • Dynasty: Wei, Jin, Southern & Northern Dynasties (Six Dynasties)
  • Category: Bronzes
  • Function: emperor’s seal
  • Material: Mineral/Metal/Bronze
  • Description:
The turtle button is printed with four characters in white: “Bai Ji with humble arms”, which is boundless. “Bei” is a family name. The strokes of “Bai” are not clear, but it is not a “day” character. Because there were “Cheng Ji Bai Ji Ji Ji” and “Cheng Ji Yan Shi” seals in the Wei and Jin Dynasties, as well as “Cao Xin Fu Bai Shu” and “Yan Xi Bai Shi” seals, it is known that “Bai” should be interpreted as a statement, so this seal also belongs to the Wei and Jin dynasties.
