Yang Huan and Xiao [0160] wrote the full text of “Shangshu · Wuyi Chapter” in seal script and official script respectively, followed by “Wuyi Chapter” written by Zhao Mengfu in small regular script. The three paragraphs are now combined into a volume, followed by Jiesi poem title and the postscript of the Qing Dynasty. It was collected by the Qianlong Imperial Palace of the Qing Dynasty. The whole volume is printed in 58 square meters and half in one square meter
This seal script of Yang Huan is different from the small seal script since the Qin and Han dynasties, which is “graceful and smooth”. Every pen and every pen has its edge. In fact, this is the characteristic of the seal script of the Yuan Dynasty, which is the “curse of Chu”. This calligraphy has a slender body, round strokes and is influenced by small seal characters. Yang’s book was written in the third year of Dade (1299), when Yang Huan was 66 years old, that is, the year of his death
The official script of Xiao [0160] is stable and precise. Although it is “Han official script”, it is actually a kind of official script that is mature during the Han and Wei dynasties, such as Xi Ping Shi Jing and Shou Chan Table. It is flat, straight and solid, quite similar to the official script of the Tang Dynasty. Xiao’s book was written in the fifth year of Dade (1301), when Xiao was 61 years old.
