Self-written Poems, also known as Thirty-eight Rhythmic Poems, was written by Qiu Yuan to Sheng Yuanren. Yuan Ren, famous Biao, is as famous as Qiu Yuan in his poems. This poem is included in Volume VII of the Chronicle of Yuan Poems and Volume II A of the Anthology of Yuan Poems. The text is slightly different. The binding is rigorous, the strokes are exquisite and vigorous, the posture is strong, and the frame structure is influenced by Ou (Yang Xun) and Zhao (Meng Jian), which makes the turning, implicate and pause with unique intention. This poem is the only full-length masterpiece of Qiu Yuan’s authentic works.
