- Description:
Gaoxian (about the ninth century AD) was born in Wucheng (now Huzhou, Zhejiang). A monk of Kaiyuan Temple in Tang Dynasty, he is good at cursive writing and his handwriting is derived from Zhang Xu and Huaisu. Xuanzong (847-859) tasted the purple robe and Han Yu, the literary leader, gave it a preface. Xianyushu commented that the cursive script was rough, and the cursive script lacked ancient style.
