- Image Number: K1A001960N000000000PAB
- Dynasty: Eastern Han dynasty
- Category: Bronzes
- Function: Household appliance
- Material: Mineral/Metal/Bronze
- Description:
Round mirror, hemispherical button, beaded seat. The back of the mirror is decorated with two opposite deformed animal patterns, with the inscription of “position to three dukes” sandwiched in the middle, and a diagonal line around the periphery. The mirror edge is wide and plain. The mirror body is thin. The arrangement of this mirror inscription breaks the double ring layout popular in Han Dynasty bronze mirrors, and the main patterns are arranged in a straight line. Similar bronze mirrors were mostly unearthed in tombs in the late Western Han Dynasty and the Wei and Jin Dynasties.
