Black glaze is applied inside and outside, the inner wall is full of glaze, the outer wall is not applied to the bottom, and the vertical glaze forms a bead shape. The glaze along the mouth is yellowish brown, and the exposed part near the bottom is dark brown
This is a typical Fujian Jianyang kiln utensil. In the Northern Song Dynasty, because of the prevalence of tea fighting in the court, this kind of tea cup with thick body and dark glaze was popular for a time. On the black glaze of this tea cup, there are radial yellow-brown stripes, like the fur on the rabbit body, commonly known as “rabbit hair pattern”, which belongs to a kind of crystal glaze. In addition to “rabbit hair pattern”, Jianyang kiln also produces “oil drop pattern”, which are famous tea sets in the Song Dynasty.
