[Gold-plated hunting cup]
The gold-plated hunting cup is 7.5 cm in height, 5.9 cm in diameter and 3.5 cm in foot diameter
The cup is made of copper, gilded all over, high and round. The body of the cup is carved with a picture of human and horse hunting with thin lines, and a string pattern is decorated near the mouth
In the Tang Dynasty, most of the wine vessels were made of gold and silver. This was due to the rulers’ preference for gold and silver products and the prosperity of the society, which made the gold and silver casting industry unprecedentedly developed at that time. This cup is exquisitely carved and vividly decorated, and is influenced by the western region craft style.
