[Stone samurai]
Stone samurai, Sui Dynasty, 134 cm high and 52 cm wide
This stone statue is a pair of stone officials in the Palace Museum. It is supposed to be the gate post of the tomb. The samurai wore a He crown and a red crotch, with his arms crossed and his sword upright. There are tiger animals carved under the feet. The contour of the figure is clearer by using the method of shallow relief
Most of these themes appeared in the Sui and early Tang dynasties, with the largest number of archaeological discoveries in Shandong, which played the role of guarding the tomb
