[White jade nose button “Guo Che” seal]
White jade nose button “Guo Che” seal, Eastern Han Dynasty, printing surface 1.9 × 1.9 cm, 1.3 cm high
Printed white jade, carved, nose button. The printed text is in Chinese seal characters and white characters. The word “Guo Che” is read horizontally from the right. The two characters are the standard Chinese seal printing method, and the layout of the printing surface is very legal
This is the private seal of the Eastern Han Dynasty. Due to the different technology between the jade seal of the Han Dynasty and the copper casting seal of the same era, the seal can generally be identified by rubbings, while the character of “Guo Che” jade seal is similar to the character style of casting seal. The printed jade is generally clear and glossy. Some people used to call it “white and slightly green than sheepskin” and “white as beautiful eyes”. The lateral laceration of the printing platform is soiled, and one corner and one side are damaged
This piece of jade was printed in the place of Tao Beiming, then returned to Jiao Zhenqing, then returned to Ni Yushu, and finally was stored in the Palace Museum.
