[Three-segment segmented divine animal mirror]
Three-segment segmented divine animal mirror, Eastern Han Dynasty, with a face diameter of 17.1 cm
The mirror is round, round button and button seat. There are two parallel lines on the mirror surface above and below the button to distinguish the inside into three sections. In the middle of the upper paragraph is a turtle with a negative canopy. There is a tall figure on the right side of the turtle, with a waiter on the left and a toad on the right. There are four people on the left side of the turtle, and a crane stands behind the last one. The middle section is decorated with a lion dance. In the middle of the lower section is a coiled silk pattern, with two people sitting on the left and two people sitting on the right. The central area is a semi-circular flow cloud pattern alternating with square pieces, and the ground is decorated with fine dot patterns. Each square piece has two words of inscription inside, which can be read consecutively: “I am a mirror, refining the mountains and rivers. I live in a skillful place, and the tail is on the child. There are four names to keep, and the beauty is suitable for the king.” The outer area is decorated with diamond vortex patterns
This mirror is exquisitely cast, with clear features of people and animals, and fine and complex patterns. It is very rare. This kind of bronze mirror has been unearthed several times in Shaanxi, with only slightly different details. In addition, Luo Zhenyu’s “Ancient Mirror Atlas” and Japan’s “Omi Search and Store the Ancient Bronze essence of **” have their own sides and are very similar.
