Shiqi Ding, 15.8 cm in height, 16.2 cm in diameter and 1.92 kg in weight
The tripod has a round and shallow belly, an inclined belly, two straight ears and three columnar feet. The neck is decorated with a bird pattern with a hanging tail and a mouth
The inscription on the inner wall of the vessel is 8 lines and 79 characters:
Only in March Dingmao, the servants of the division flag do not
march from the king to the Fanglei. Let me quote
to inform you. In [0016], Bo Mao
was punished by three hundred yuan. Today,
Kejue was punished, and Mao Fu ordered: “Yi [0017],
[0018] did not go from Jue to the right, and now it is not [0017].
It is also contained in the Shiqi.” By quoting the
historical records, the flag of Jue [0019] is respected by Yi
(Servant: refers to some people under the jurisdiction of Shiqi. Friend: here refers to colleagues or subordinates. Inside: pay, turn in. Here refers to pay a certain amount of fine.)
The main idea of the inscription is: This is Dingmao Day in March. Shiqi, because many of his servants do not go to fight Fang Lei with Wang, sent his subordinates to report the matter to Bo Maofu. He said, “At the time of [0016], Bo Maofu had been punished by three hundred yuan, and now he can’t be punished”. Bo Maofu ordered: “Those who did not go out with the right army should be exiled according to law. Now, they should not be exiled. They should be fined to the division flag”.
