The plates in bronze ware are generally water containers, which are often used in conjunction with 匜 and He. According to the “Book of Rites · Internal Rules”, its usage is as follows: “When entering the toilet, the young will serve a plate (plate), the elderly will serve water, please wash the toilet, and the valet will give a towel.” Wo Toilet means washing hands, watering the hands with 匜 or He, and the plate will be used to receive the waste water, and the feast will be performed before and after, also known as “Wo Toilet Ceremony”. This plate is quite large and can also be used to hold water. The plates in bronze wares first appeared in the early Shang Dynasty and gradually disappeared during the Warring States Period.
