Portraits of late Qing Dynasty, rare color high-definition old photos
This group of old photos of Qing Dynasty portraits is Feng&middleot, a painter and photographer born in Austria; Baron Raymond (1839—— 1911) went to Guangdong, Shanghai and other places in China to shoot in the 1870s. Both the shooting level and the later painting are first-class
Most of the subjects taken by Raymond in Guangdong, Shanghai and other places in China are civilians, and the close-up shooting method of his portrait is completely different from the Chinese habit of taking photos of many front and whole bodies. Although his shooting is all about posing, the characteristics of the times of the characters are extremely distinctive. The clothes of the characters and women’s big feet are very different from those of women with small feet in the north
This group of photos is from the Metropolitan Museum of Art,“ Metropolis” In 2005, it spent a huge amount of money to purchase and digitize it, and also selflessly provided appreciation to the world
