Old photos taken in 1888 of Prince Chun’s Mansion
Prince Chun’s Mansion was the residence of Nalan Mingzhu, a great scholar in the early Qing Dynasty. Later, Mingzhu was convicted, and the palace was occupied by Ho Shen, and this place became Ho Shen’s villa. In the fourth year of Jiaqing (1799), Jiaqing killed Ho Shen and gave the garden and the nearby mansion to Prince Cheng. When this mansion was spread to Yugui, it was given to Prince Chun Yigui, who was the first ancestor of Prince Chun (1840-1891, the seventh son of Daoguang and the father of Guangxu). Because his Fujin was the sister of Cixi, he was put in important position; Therefore, the wedding palace was renamed as Chunqin Palace
