First of all, Huayuankou here refers to Huayuankou in Dalian, Liaoning. After the Sino Japanese War of 1894-1895, the Japanese decided to land the Second Army in Liaodong Peninsula in order to seize Jinzhou and Lushun as soon as possible. For this purpose, our navy sent ships to carry out reconnaissance along the south coast of Liaodong Peninsula to find the landing site. Finally, the Japanese base camp decided to land at Huayuankou

At 8:30 a.m. on October 23, 1894, the first group of Japanese landing troops took the“ Yokohama Pills” Under the protection of 14 warships, they set out from the North Korean Yuyindong Port. At 5:30 on the 24th, the Japanese arrived at the Huayuankou sea area. At that time, when the Japanese army landed, residents in Wutun, Jiulongxing and other places fled one after another, and some civilian houses were forcibly occupied by the Japanese army

首先注意一点，这里的花园口指的是辽宁大连的花园口，甲午战争爆发后，日军为了尽快夺取金州、旅顺地区，决定第二军在辽东半岛登陆。本海军为此派出舰船，沿辽东半岛南岸沿海进行侦察，寻找登陆地点，最后日军大本营决定在花园口登陆。

1894年10月23日上午八时半，日军第一批登陆部队搭乘“横滨丸”等十六艘船只，在十四艘战舰抢护下．由朝鲜渔隐洞港出发。到了24日五点半，日军到了花园口海域。当时日军上岸登陆时，吴屯、久隆兴等地的居民纷纷都逃走了，一些民房被日军强占。

因清军在南部沿海边防根本没有进行防范，所以，大批日军在花园口如入无人之境，顺利地将炮马辎重搬运登岸。
