A group of old photos of Wuhan in 1865, the earliest known real historical images of Wuhan

Today, I would like to share a group of old photos of Hankou in the late Qing Dynasty in 1865, which reflect the urban landscape of Wuhan in early modern times. According to research, this group of photos may be the earliest historical images of Wuhan

This group of photos is from an Italian book: History of Chinese Photography: Western Photographers 1861-1879), in which there are five old photos of Wuhan developed by French photographer Paul· Paul Champion took the picture between 1865 and 1866, which is earlier than the Yellow Crane Tower taken by British traveler Thomson in 1871

今天给大家分享一组1865年晚清时期的汉口老照片，反映了近代早期的武汉城市景观，据考据这组照片可能是目前最早的武汉地区历史影像。

这组照片出自一本意大利书籍：《中国摄影史：西方摄影师1861-1879）》，书中发展有了5张武汉老照片，由法国摄影师保罗·尚皮翁（Paul Champion）于1865年到1866年间所拍，比以前认为的1871年英国旅行家汤姆逊所拍的黄鹤楼更早。

汉口，江边，晴川阁。可以看到晴川阁高大挺拔，是当时武汉三镇长江边最醒目的地标建筑之一。
 

汉口，江边码头，南岸嘴龙王庙码头一带，船舶、建筑林立，汉口江西会馆（万寿宫）的殿堂高大醒目。

汉口，英租界，沿江的一排两层洋楼看上去刚建好，为四面回廊式建筑，非常时尚美观，门前宽大的街道还没有修建完成。

可以看到蛇山黄鹄矶头本该是黄鹤楼的位置空空荡荡，这与历史记载的清代黄鹤楼1856年毁于战火，1868年才重建的记载相吻合，证明这张照片摄于1868年以前。
