Share a group of old photos of Nanjing from 1910-1911 taken by Huile· Charles
Huile· Charles (1879-1974) worked for British American Tobacco Corporation. He came to Shanghai from Dalian on June 14, 1910 and worked in Shanghai for more than 18 months. Wheeler may have been involved in the establishment of a British Tobacco factory in Shanghai, and he is also a volunteer of the Shanghai Fire Brigade. On January 2, 1912, he left Shanghai by boat due to illness and returned to England
During his working time in China, he took (sorted) many photos of Shanghai and its surrounding areas, leaving us many real images of Chinese society in the late Qing Dynasty
