Thomas· Thomas Chowder Chamberlin (1843— 1928), a famous American geologist, was born in Bilot, a small town in the east of Wisconsin. He graduated from the Department of Geology of Bilot College in 1966 and stayed in the school for several years. Later, he became president of the University of Wisconsin. In 1893, Thomas· Zhang Bolin was invited to set up the Department of Geology of the University of Chicago and served as its chairman

Thomas&middot, January 4, 1909; Zhang Bolin and his son set off from Chicago, the United States, took the Siberian cruise ship in San Francisco, passed through Hawaii and Japan, and arrived in Shanghai, China, on February 2, 1909. From February 2, 1909 to June 10, 1909, the investigation team composed of Zhang Bolin and his son and Burton met at the same time. They spent a total of more than four months in China, visiting 13 provinces at that time, including Jiangsu, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Sichuan, Henan, Zhili and Shanxi, by means of cruise, train, carriage, sedan chair and walking
