The heart shaped jade blue white “韘” was originally worn by the ancients on the thumb of their right hand when shooting arrows to hook strings. In the Han Dynasty, the shape was changed into a heart shaped ornament with symmetrical hollowed out patterns on both sides, which was called a “bow shaped pendant”.
