Tang Dai (1673-1754) was a native of Zhenghuang Banner in Manchuria. Yudong is named Jingyan. He was good at painting landscapes, and the Emperor Kangxi gave him the title of “Painting Scholar”. He lived in the Kangxi, Yongyang and Qianlong dynasties. Painting the peaks of autumn mountain waterfalls, the smoke surrounding the mountainside, and the pines towering. Combined with Wang Meng and Wang Yuan Qishu’s stone strokes and ink texturing method, the layers are drawn with fine lines, the space depth is increased, and the composition is full of changes. This painting was completed in the 11th year of Qianlong reign (1746).
