Chen Shu, whose name is Yuan Shu, will be examined in the year of birth and death. Zhejiang Jiashan, a native of Jiangsu Huating (today’s Shanghai), lives in Jiangning (today’s Nanjing). In the sixth year of Shunzhi’s reign (1649), he was a scholar who was good at painting flowers, birds, grass and insects, and wrote “Taoist Manuscripts”.
