- Description:
The name of the Raphanus bottle comes from the common name of the shops in the book “Tao Ya” at the end of the Qing Dynasty, which is not found in official documents. The Raphani bottle (called Raphani Zun) is named after the shape of the Raphani (radish). It has a small mouth, a thin straight neck, a flat round shoulder, and three convex strings on the shoulder and neck; The long abdomen straightens and gradually becomes the small bottom. The shape is famous for emphasizing the straightness and change of the contour curve of the vessel shape. It is a new shape created in the Kangxi era, and has never been seen in the imperial kilns since. Cowpea red glaze is applied on the outer wall of the vessel, which is more bright red, and the halo changes are exquisite and considerable; The bottle color is slightly uniform, with irregular apple green spots at the mouth, shoulder and bottom, and black moss spots emerging on the surface. Because of the large vertical flow of red glaze, the edge and string pattern of the utensil are light in color. The bottom edge of the utensil is deeply scarred, and the foot is dug in. The bottom surface only has transparent glaze. The calligraphy is blue and white, “made in the reign of Kangxi in the Qing Dynasty”, with six characters and three lines. cowpea
