- Description:
The utensil is rectangular box shaped, short and round, with thick fetal bone, open cover, and colorful painting of shepherd girls and rural scenery. The raised edges on the periphery of the picture are painted with gold to form an inclined frame. The curly grass pattern is painted with white paint to make the surface of the device look like a figure painting with complete mounting. Two layers of banana leaf patterns are decorated on the sides of the perimeter, and red palindromes are painted on the feet. The four character pattern of “Made in Qianlong” is printed in blue on the bottom. According to the archives of the Manufacturing Office, as early as the second year of Qianlong’s reign, Western style had appeared on the porcelain body snuff bottle. Although this work could not be directly linked to the text of the archives, the ornaments beside the shepherd girl, the scenery behind the girl, etc., even in the small picture, still made people feel the impact of the westward trend.
