  • Description:
This work is one of the types of porcelain exported to the Netherlands in the 17th century. After being turned upside down, it looks very much like the popular woolen hat at that time. Therefore, Dutch businessmen directly called this porcelain in the form of a hat “klapmuts”. The whole work has a wide fold border lace, and the decorative patterns from the border to the curved wall inside the utensil are divided into six equal parts, with three grid paintings of garden ladies’ scenes, three grid paintings of peony flowers, and between the grids are decorated with swastika characters and sharp corners. Six flower patterns with bidirectional twigs are painted under the folding edge on the reverse side. The outer wall is also divided into six grids. The inner wall is painted with Ruyi cloud head pattern, and the bottom is connected with short circle feet. There is no glaze exposed at the foot margin. The fetal bone is firm and white, and the bottom surface is flat and tasteless. In addition to modeling, the division of internal and external curved walls is similar to the style of “Karak” porcelain. The ladies who deliberately lengthen their body proportions have been popular in Europe since the 17th century
