Blue jade, cross ochre spots. The whole device is in the shape of a cicada, with a simplified shape and a tunnel hole drilled above the center. Most of the jade cicadas in the Han Dynasty are dark green jade, and the workmanship is simple. This is because the function of the cicadas is to place them in the mouth of the deceased great nobles in order to become the funeral jade of rebirth. Because of the way it is used, there is no need to tie and pierce. Later generations did not know the original function of the cicada, but changed it to wear a jade pendant.
