• Description:
  Lapis lazuli caulking bowl with deep wall and round bottom. The stone is dark blue, and yellow spots can be seen. The outer wall is engraved with Chinese, Manchu, Mongolian, and Tibetan characters. Its Chinese characters say, “Do you want to use the carving of seven Buddha postures, and the King of Heaven will offer this to worship and hold. Shepo City was invited to eat in Wupu at the Palace of Music. It was asked not to teach people about it, but only the four Zen sects knew it. The land of Potemun should have it, and it would float to the auspicious wind and the rain. The imperial title of the first month of the spring of Qianlong Jimao (1759).” The inner bottom is carved with ten free faces. This poem is contained in 83 volumes of the second volume of the Imperial Poetry Collection. Its preface: “The recent cause of the destruction of Junggar, and the acquisition of a Buddha bowl from its tribe, is the origin of the real emperor’s bluestone”.
