It is made of bluish white jade and is slightly brown. The animal faces with eyes and eyebrows can be seen below. From the bottom to the top, the body is laid with repeated decorative units to outline the simplified back of the animal body, which is a common pattern of decorative design from the mid Western Han Dynasty to the Eastern Han Dynasty. The sword is bound by its flat bottom and scabbard. The jade sword head, jade sword Tan (sword case) and jade sword Kuan (sword Kuan) are one of the complete components of jade sword. They are ritual tools to show the status of the nobility.
