Wang Jingming (1688-1721) studied painting from Wang Yuanqi. In the 46th year of Kangxi’s reign (1707), when Emperor Kangxi made a tour of the south, he entered poetry and painting to worship the imperial court. Although this work is not as beautiful as Wang Yuanqi’s (1642-1715), the strokes are fine and formal, and the colors are refined and careful, which actually suits the preferences of Emperor Qianlong. In the near and middle scenes of the painting, the long linen cloth is used to paint the slope of the river bank, where the trees are dense, following Huang Gongwang’s example; The vast mountains in the distant future are towering over the clouds and mists, and there are many alum heads on the top of the mountain. The whole work is classic and active, with clear structure, beautiful color, and beautiful appearance. Emperor Qianlong wrote a word “God” on the painting to show his appreciation.
